There’s a time when we all need that impromptu escape to recharge, refocus and get a break from the autonomy of everyday life. My last minute decision to head to Whistler provided me with a much needed break.

If you’ve heard of Whistler, you’ve probably have heard people visiting the town for its amazing skiing and snowboarding resorts. But the town of Whistler is not only rich in activities during the winter, it is also amazing to visit in the summer.

In this post I will share with you my weekend itinerary for Whistler. I bet you will be surprised of all the things I was able to crammed in only a few days.

Day 1

The day started by taking a shuttle from Vancouver Airport into Whistler, which was about a 2 hour drive. At my arrival in Whistler I was greeted by my family, who was hosting me for the weekend.

My first adventure started at Joffre Lakes Provincial Park. The hike to the lake was super short, about 10-20 minutes. Once I got to the lake I was in complete awe. The lake was a perfect hue of teal, and the fog setting in created a whimsical landscape.

Later that night I made a trip to Vallea Lumina a multimedia night walk in Whistler. It is a beautiful story telling journey through the forested surrounds of Cougar Mountain. The experience is so surreal, something I had never encounter before.

Day 2

On my second day I did the Peak 2 Peak 360 experience. One of Whistler’s must do summer activities. The experience starts with a Gondola ride from Whistler to Blackcomb Mountain. The view from the gondola it is breath taking plus the cool thing about the gondola is that it has a glass floor, really giving you that whole 360 experience. Once you are there, there’s an overwhelming amount of activities you can do during your visit to the peaks. You can hike, bike, dine but my favorite one by far was crossing Whistler’s Peak Suspension Bridge.

Day 3

Although every day I spent in Whistler was amazing, my final day was probably the most epic one. I booked a helicopter ride with Blackcomb Helicopters. The tour gives you an extraordinary view of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain, followed by a short stop at a Glacier. I mean how sick is that. Never in my dreams did I think this could be possible. It was the perfect ending to an amazing trip. So if you are thinking about going on an impromptu adventure make sure Whistler is on your list.
